Srinagar, June 27: Jammu and Kashmir reported a spike in covid-19 cases with 67 new infections in the last 24 hours that pushed overall tally to 454865 while the death toll remained at 4756 with no fatality during the time, officials said on Monday.
They said that 47 cases were reported from Jammu division and 20 from Kashmir division. Giving district wise details, Jammu district reported 40 cases, Srinagar 16, Baramulla four, two cases each were reported from Udhampur, Kishtwar, Poonch and one from Kathua.
Among the total cases of 454865, 166891 are from Jammu division and 287974 in Kashmir.
There was no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4756 persons have succumbed to the virus—2331 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.
Besides, they said, 29 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—19 from Jammu division and 10 from Kashmir Valley. So far 449750 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 359— 240 in Jammu and 119 in Kashmir.
The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 7687 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
