Srinagar: Irrigation and flood control Department on Wednesday requested people living near nallahs to remain alert as the water level have risen.

An official told INS that, The habitation residing along higher contours of tributaries (Nallahs) especially Vishow and Rambiyara Nallah (South Kashmir) are requested to remain vigilant as water level have risen and are expected to rise further in response to the rainfall in the catchment.

“In response to the rainfall that is taking place in the Jhelum basin since yesterday the water levels are increasing in water bodies. Although, the gauge at key nodal points at Sangam, Ram MunshiBagh & Asham on River Jhelum is still below the Alarm mark,” said official of IFC Kashmir.
