Anantnag, April 12: Four drug peddlers were arrested along with contraband substance in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday, police said.

“On a specific information Police party from Police Station Bijbehara laid down a naka at Gadiseer Bijbehara and intercepted a vehicle Taveera (DL1CJ-5691) and during search of the vehicle 14 kilograms of Charas powder and 07 Grams of Brown sugar were recovered,” a police spokesperson said in a statement . Four persons boarding the vehicle namely Afrooz Ahmad Malik son of Manzoor Ahmad Malik of Jablipora, Shahid Rashid Wagay son of Abdul Rashid Wagay of Jablipora, Mohammad Yousuf Shah son of Mohammad Jabbar Shah of Guree and Bashir Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohideen Dar of Veeri were arrested, he said.

Accordingly, he said, a case under relevant sections of the law stands registered in Police Station Bijbehara.
