Snowfall Grounds 34 Flights , Remaining Unlikely To Operate At Srinagar International Airport

Srinagar, Jan 4: At Least 34 flights to and fro Srinagar ‘international’ airport here have been cancelled due to poor visibility amid rains and snowfall in Kashmir Valley on Tuesday.

Officials here said that all Indigo flights (13), Spicejet (6) and Vistara(3) besides most of the Air India and Go First flights have been cancelled.

In all 42-44 flights were scheduled for today and it was unlikely that any flight will take place today, they said. Some international flights are scheduled later tonight, they said.  “Given the weather conditions, they are unlikely to operate,” they said.

However officials said that the call on the remaining flight operations will be taken depending on the prevailing weather conditions during the day.

Director Srinagar airport, Kuldeep Singh said that 34 flights have been cancelled and decision regarding remaining would be taken in due course of time depending on the weather.
