Jammu and Kashmir Logs 84 New Covid-19 Cases, One Black Fungus Infection Reported

Srinagar, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir reported 84 new covid-19 cases even as there was no death to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.

Among the fresh cases, 12 were reported from Jammu Division and 72 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 331221.

There was no death due to the virus during the time. So far 4428—2175 in Jammu and 2253 in Kashmir—have died due to the pathogen, they said.

Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 45 cases, Baramulla 12, Budgam 8, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 1, Anantnag 5, Bandipora 0, Ganderbal 1, Kulgam 0, Shopian 0, Jammu 7, Udhampur 0, Rajouri 1, Doda 3, Kathua 0, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 1, Ramban 0 and Reasi 0.

Moreover, the officials said that 97 more patients have recovered—17 from Jammu Division and 80 from Kashmir. So far 325990 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 803—125 in Jammu and 678 in Kashmir.

They said there was one new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 49 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.

The government also informed that 76,508 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
