Ramban, Jul 24: An ailing elderly woman was killed and his son and daughter-in-law accompanying her were injured after an ambulance they were on board met with an accident in Batote in Ramban district on Saturday afternoon.
They said that an ambulance (JK-06 8241) was on way from GMC Doda to SKIMS Soura carrying the cancer patient Hasina Begum wife of Lt Bhadar Malik and two her attendants namely Mohammad Ameen Malik (35) and his wife Fareeda Begum (35) – all residents of Tantna, tehsil Gondan, district Doda.
On reaching Batote, the driver lost control over the vehicle, resulting in on spot death of the elderly woman and injuries to the two attendants, they said.
Confirming the incident, a police officer said that both the injured were shifted to CHC Batote for treatment, where they are said to be in a stable condition.
A case has been registered in this regard for further proceedings, he further said.
