Jammu, Oct 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a residential property in Danihama area of Hazratbal, Srinagar, belonging to accused Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas, in connection with a cross-border terror conspiracy case involving the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the agency said on Monday.
The property, located at Khasra No. 315, was attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after obtaining prior approval from the Director General of NIA. According to the agency, the investigation established a direct link between the premises and the alleged terror conspiracy, with the property having been used to shelter Pakistani terrorists and conceal incriminating material.
The case was initially registered as FIR No. 24/2026 on March 31, 2026, at Police Station Zakoora in Srinagar before being taken over and re-registered by the NIA as case RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU.
The investigation has revealed an alleged network of local overground workers (OGWs) operating in coordination with Pakistan-based LeT handlers to facilitate the infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support of Pakistani terrorists for attacks against government establishments, security forces and civilians, the agency said.
During a search conducted at Mir’s residential premises on April 6, 2026, investigators detected two suspected Pakistani terrorists, identified as Abu Huraira and Khubaib, who were allegedly associated with LeT. An explosive-like substance, digital devices and other incriminating material were also recovered and seized from the premises.
The NIA investigation further indicated that Mir had knowingly provided shelter to the suspected terrorists and allowed the premises to be used to facilitate their activities, according to the agency.
The investigation is continuing to identify other alleged overground workers, facilitators and individuals linked to the Pakistan-based handlers, the agency said.
