Srinagar, April 19: One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Zeipora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday, police said.

The encounter had ensued after a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Zeipora amid specific information about the presence of militants.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces which was retaliated, triggering off a gunfight.
