Preparedness for Covid-19 Vaccine rollout reviewed at Kupwara

Kupwara Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg Friday convened a meeting of District Task Force Committee for COVID-19 containment measures, here to discuss preparatory plan, ahead of expected COVID-19 vaccine roll out in the district.
The DC said that the objective of the meeting is to ensure smooth preparedness for different aspects of COVID-19 vaccine rollout and explained the modalities for collection, storage, distribution and inoculation of the vaccine.
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kousar Amin informed the meeting that 285 vaccination sites have been identified in the district where vaccination shall be carried out.
She said that about 7500 health workers including Doctors, Paramedics, ASHA workers, Anganwadi Workers, Helpers and private health workers shall be vaccinated in the first instance and 570 Health workers have been identified as vaccinators.
Regarding training for data uploading, the meeting was informed that training shall be completed within 5 days, covering all targets.
The DC asked the CMO to make an Action Plan covering all activities within 2 days and ensure strengthening of Health institutions by way of facilities like power backup including availability of Transformers, Gensets and stabilizers.
He assured all possible support to the Health department from District Administration and directed the concerned officers including District Panchayat Officer, Youth Services & Sports Officer and others to provide proper support to the Health department to make the vaccination drive successful in the district.
Garg asked the CMO to get a list of NYK volunteers and map up with the Health department for utilizing their service in strengthening the manpower. He also instructed the CMO to take BDC chairpersons onboard before starting the vaccination programme.
Among others District Panchayat Officer, Shujaat Qureshi; District Information Officer, Mohammad Yousuf Mir; District AYSHA Coordinator, District Youth Services & Sports Officer and Dy. CEO were also present in the meeting.
