Rakhi- Arth to be created as separate Municipal Committee: Div Com

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 08: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole today said that the Rakhi Arth Bemina would be created as separate Municipal Committee for its fast track development.
The Div Com said this while chairing a meeting of officers to review pace and progress of development works presently under execution.
He directed the concerned officers to initiate work process on creating the Rakhi-Arth housing colony as Municipal Committee for better representation of locals and their aspiration to the concerned authorities.
Stressing on timely development of plots for the rehabilitation of Dal dwellers at Rakhi-Arth, the Div Com directed concerned to complete the revised DPR under Phase-I and Phase- II in a week’s time to ensure work execution and completion on all projects within the stipulated time frame.
He instructed the concerned to ensure completion of demarcation process of the housing colony by August 28.
Expressing his dismay over the illegal sale or subletting of plots to outsiders, the Div Com asked concerned to strictly stop the trend and ensure no such transfers are done by the original owners.
Emphasizing on the regular water supply to the households, the Div Com instructed to complete remaining work on the tube wells to ensure potable water supply to the residents.
He stressed on maintaining proper sanitation and cleanliness in the colony and directed the concerned to deploy 10 additional sweepers and install extra dustbins for disposal of solid waste material besides he also instructed to ensure timely completion of work on drainage connectivity and asked concerned to ensure proper sewerage water management and development of roads.
The PDD authorities were directed to ensure scheduled power supply to the colony and disconnection of Khumani Chowk feeder from the Rakhi-Arth transmission within two months’ time.
He called upon the concerned authorities to ensure construction work of Primary, Middle and High School is completed by November this year and assured that additional funds shall be made available for the said purpose.
Similarly, concerned agencies were directed to ensure timely work completion of PHC building and instructions were passed on to ensure availability of required medicine and deployment of permanent staff to facilitate better patient care to locals.
The Div Com also reviewed the pace and progress on development of parks, Community Centre for skill development, aganwadi and ration depot, land acquisition, earth filling of plots, and construction of boundary walls of public utilities and other facilities.
He instructed the concerned to handover Sports Stadium to YSS for caretaking and further development process.
Among others, the meeting was attended by VC LAWDA, CE, PHE, R&B, Chairman SMC, ADC, SE PDD and other concerned.
