Roundup: SSB Man Kills ASI Before Committing Suicide, Army Soldier Also Ends Life

Srinagar: A paramilitary Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel committed suicide after the fratricidal killing of his senior colleague in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Monday.
Official sources said that there was some altercation between two troopers, ASI Sandeep Kumar (No. 13050920) and constable Hemant Sharma (100641097) of 49 battalion at the main gate of PC Kulgam.
“Constable Hemant lost the cool and fired by his issued INSAS rifle on the ASI killing him on the spot and in the meantime, he fired on self. Both were dead at the spot”, a police officer said.
A senior police officer confirmed the incident and said that investigations have been launched into the incident.
Meanwhile, an army soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday evening.
Quoting officials, a local news agency said that an Army man identified as S. Srinivas of Telangana shot himself while he was on duty at 226 Field Unit in Boniyar.
