Malbagh Encounter: Injured CRPF trooper dies

Srinagar: A paramilitary CRPF personnel who was injured critically in a gunfight with militants in Malbagh area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district succumbed to wounds, officials said on Thursday.
A senior Police officer said that the critically wounded CRPF personnel was shifted to the hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
Meanwhile, one militant has been killed in the encounter while searches are still going on.
Earlier, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Malbagh.
As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
