Srinagar: Expressing serious concern over the extending of NIA custody of its chairman and senior resistance leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Altaf Shah, Peer Saifullah, Mehraj-din-Kalwal up to August 14, Jammu Kashmir National Front has said that India is doing its best to crush the political will of resistance leadership. The party has said that extending the custody of Nayeem Khan and others is politically motivated and undemocratic.
The NIA remand of some leaders including Nayeem Khan arrested on July 24 was extended by a Delhi court yesterday while as Shahid-ul-islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Ayaz Akbar were sent to judicial custody. Another resistance leader Shabir Ahmad Shah who was arrested by Enforcement Department is facing hardships in Delhi.
Stating that New Delhi is using cruel tactics against the genuine political leadership of Kashmiri people, a National Front spokesman said in a statement that resistance leaders including Nayeem Khan have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as if they are any criminals.
The spokesman said that after facing defeat at the hands of resistance leadership including Nayeem Khan at political front, New Delhi is using its institutions to revenge the leaders like Nayeem Khan in one the other pretext. India is busy in terrorising the pro-freedom Kashmiri people by arresting their leaders and killing youth and unarmed civilians in nook and corner.
Paying rich and glowing tributes to the martyrs of Amargarh Sopore the spokesman said that India must not close all political channels by jailing political leaders like Nayeem Khan. New Delhi must behave politically and not only release Nayeem Khan and others but also accept the disputed nature of Jammu Kashmir. (KNS)
