Condolence meeting held to mourn demise of Al-Haj Nazir Ahmad Zargar; INS management express sympathy

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan Wednesday said that the restrictions on highway were put in place to avoid ‘any ugly situation.’

Addressing a presser, Khan who was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, SP Pani said that there was no ban on the civilian movement along highway but some regulations were put in place in view of huge traffic burden due to ongoing Amarnath Yatra.

He added that the burden will decrease with each passing day.

“There were some concerns including the situation of highway due to which some regulations were put in place,” Khan said.

Meanwhile, IGP Pani while reacting to the query said that the militancy related threat on highway remains high but the decision regarding regulations on highway were not taken due to these reasons.
