Sopore : Residents of various localities in Sopore sub division of Baramulla district are accusing Roads and Buildings Department of using sub standard material in macadamization of roads including in main town.

Inhabitants claimed that in Iqbal market Down town, Arampora, Chinkipora, Main Chowk, Bus Stand area of Sopore,  macadamised roads and broke within 24 hours of completion of work.

“It is a clear proof that they used substandard materials. Responsiblity should be fixed on contractors and other officials involved in work,” residents said.

Trade and other firms have appealed District Administrations to look into the matter and take action against the department as well as contractor.
