Ganderbal: Police on Tuesday flexed muscles on protesters demanding commencement of work on various development projects in the district here including construction of proper building for Central University, road widening, and pending power station.

According to eyewitnesses the protest was organised by Development Forum Ganderbal who assembled at the Beehama chowk and held a sit in.

They demanded that the power station promised two decades back still remains elusive as no work was initiated by the government on the project.

“Since the Ganderbal was declared a district road widening has not been done,” protesters accused.

They also said that the while Central University Kashmir was granted land for construction of the varsity no building is being constructed for the students and it only works from accomodations.

“We demand that government should at earliest commence works on the languishing projects that only adds to the trauma of the people in the district,” they claimed.
