Srinagar: Nine girls among eleven students of a private computer institute were killed and seven others were injured after picnic vehicle (Tempo travelers) they were on board skidded off the road and fell in a gorge near Peer Ki Gali along Mughal road in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.

Reports said that the vehicle overturned and fell into the gorge, leading to death of 11 students and injuries to seven others who have been removed to the SMHS.  The students were from a private computer institute at Surankote Poonch.

Soon after the mishap, locals and police launched a rescue operation and evacuated all those onboard the vehicle to District Hospital Shopian from where seriously injured seven persons were shifted to SMHS hospital.
