Anantnag: Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Kachwan Milfan woods of Kokernag in Anantnag district on Tuesday afternoon.

According to sources the contact with the hiding militants has been established and both sides are exchanging gunfire in the forest range.

“Searches were earlier launched on specific inputs about militants hiding in the area and as the searches were intensified hiding militants opened fire on forces leading to encounter.

Sources said that two militants are hiding in the woods.

Details emerging.
