Pulwama: South Kashmir opened up on Tuesday back to business after four days consecutive shutdown over the killing of top militant commander Zakir Musa on Friday last week.
All the shops and business establishments reopened early this morning and traffic was plying normally on all roads particularly in Pulwama, Pampore, Awantipora, Tral and adjoining areas.
“Huge rush of people were witnessed in the markets with people buying essential items. Shopkeepers were also seen cleaning their shops to restart their routine work,” locals said.
Train service and low speed internet services were also resumed after remaining suspended.
Meanwhile, as precautionary measure all colleges and some Higher secondaries of Pulwama  including Higher Secondary School for both boys and girls in  Pulwama, Pampore, Kakapora, Tral and Noorpora remain closed today.
Earlier on Friday, Zakir Musa, Chief of Anzar Ghazwat Ul Hind was killed in an encounter with government forces that erupted during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Dadsara area of Tral in Pulwama.
