BASHARAT RASHID
Tral: A devastating hailstorm hit some areas of South Kashmir’s Tral Sub division on Wednesday evening and left behind a trail of destruction. It damaged crops, vegetables and destroyed fruits.
Locals told INS that the hailstorm created havoc in Brenpathri, Nagbal and other areas of Tral as it destroyed standing crops, vegetables and fruits there.
“Our crops and fruits are completely destroyed by devastating hailstorm today. We have lost everything in our fields and orchards due to hailstorm,” said a resident of Brenpathri Tral.
According to the eyewitnesses, the hailstorm lasted for about 30 minutes, causing extensive damage in these villages of Tral.
The affected people while talking INS requested authorities to immediately assess the quantum of loss caused to the crops and fruits in the area and demanded relief from the governor authorities.
