Sumbal Minor’s rape: Governor directs for fast track investigation

Srinagar: Governor Satya Pal Malik and Advisor Vijay Kumar on Monday directed the special investigation team to complete the investigation of Bandipora rape case on fast track basis so that the culprit is brought to justice.
He directed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and IG Police to personally monitor the investigation.
Separate inquiry has also been ordered to check veracity of the age of accused and ascertain the veracity of age certificate issued.
Requesting the general public to maintain peace and mutual brotherhood, the Governor has assured the general public that the administration is taking each and every step for maintaining public order and anybody having any grievance or any apprehension shall contact the Police Control Room or Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s office.
Meanwhile, the Governor has appealed the people not to pay any heed to rumors and has said rumor mongers will be dealt strictly as per law.
