2 dead, 7 injured in twin accidents

Kupwara: People in Kupwara are irritated over District Hospital Kupwara for forcing several patients to use single bed creating chaos and mess in wards.
According to an attendant hospital authorities told patients to use single bed for two or more than two patients.
The situation in the wards is so messy, an attendant said, that there is foul smell emanating in wards.
“Not only wards are filthy but some students are catering to patients,” they said.
Several attendants told INS that patients are asked to ‘manage beds’ and ‘accommodate each other’.
Block Medical Officer Kupwara, Dr Zaffar Iqbal said that there is ‘some accommodation problem’.
“We are shifting to new building in next half a month all such problems will get resolved,” Iqbal said.
Students are allowed to practice in the medical wards, he said, adding that they are not assigned any ‘sensitive jobs’.
