Ganderbal: The despicable condition of roads in central Kashmir district Ganderbal has only made commuting worse and added to woes of people.

Highway connecting Srinagar with Ganderbal via Beehama is filled with broken road and potholes, and as residents say, one has to navigate through the road.

Abdul Majeed Shala, who claimed that he almost on daily basis commutes to and fro Srinagar, said that the the road is a ‘mess’.

“The driver has to navigate trough the broken roads and it only adds to miseries. At times, as traffic from opposite sides try to move through the bad roads, mishaps too happen,” Shala claimed.

“Similarly, Duderhama- Safapora road is also in a ugly shape,” Ganderbal Traders body president Ghulam Hassan Parra told INS.

He said that repeated pleas put forth to district administration have gone heed less.

“If the administration further delays to redress the public sufferings, then traders are forced to down their shutters in protest against the administration as well as the concerned authorities,” Parra said.

Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal Syed Sajad didn’t receive any calls from this reporter.
