Two militants killed in Bijbhera, internet snapped amid restrictions in Anantnag

Anantnag: Two militants were killed in an encounter with government forces in Bagdaram village of of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Thursday. The authorities have also snapped internet in the district and also imposed restrictions in the main town of Anantnag as ‘precautionary measure.’
Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 3RR, SOG of J&K Police cordoned off the village around midnight after “credible inputs” about presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team was zeroing in the suspected spot, a police officer said, the hiding militants fired upon them around, triggering off an encounter.
In the gunfight, the police officer said, two militants were killed and their identity and group affiliation was being ascertained.
Meanwhile mobile internet was suspended in Anantnag as precautionary measures even as restrictions have been imposed in main town to prevent any protests.
