LoC Flare Up: Army Major Among 3 Injured, Schools Near LoC Closed

Poonch: An army major and two civilians were injured as India and Pakistan armies exchanged fresh shelling along LoC in Poonch district on Thursday.
Officials here said that Pakistan army resorted to the unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing mortar shells and small arms on forward posts and villages along the LoC in Dagwar area.
The army manning the fence responded “strongly and effectively”, they said.
An army officer and two civilians including a woman were injured after some shells landed in the residential areas, they said.
The injured including civilians Kamal Din son of Alam Din and Naseem Akther wife of Mogammad Qadir of Nakerkote, were taken to district hospital Poonch.
Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, the government has ordered the closure of private and government schools located within 5 kilometers from LoC in Poonch district on Friday.
