Pleasant Weather To Stay For Now, Rains Forecast Next Week

Srinagar: The weatherman has forecast pleasant weather for Kashmir Valley this weekend and rains from April 8 onwards.
“Mainly dry weather till 7th April. Rain is expected from 8th onwards,” a meteorological department official said.
The weather has been mainly dry in Kashmir from last few days and night and day temperatures remained above normal for this time of the year.
Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a minimum of 6.5 degrees Celsius while it had maximum of 25.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, nearly eight degrees Celsius above normal, the official said.
Qazigund, the gateway town of Valley, witnessed minimum of 5.4 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam, the hill resort also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of 2.6 degrees Celsius. Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of 8.0 degrees Celsius, highest in any part of the Valley. Kupwara in north Kashmir witnessed a low of 3.8 degrees Celsius while world famous skiing resort saw a low of 4.4 degree Celsius, 5.2 degrees Celsius above the normal for this time of the year, the official added.
