Srinagar: The globally famous skiing resort of Gulmarg received about 10 inches of fresh snowfall overnight, weatherman said on Thursday.

He said that while there was snowfall, the night temperature settled at minus 5.4 degrees Celsius, lowest in entire Kashmir Valley.

Srinagar—the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir—recorded a minimum temperature of 3.4 Degrees Celsius last night against 4.7 degrees Celsius normal for this time of the season, he said.

Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a low of 3.3 degrees Celsius while the mercury in Kokernag town in south Kashmir settled at a minimum of 1.4 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 0.2 degrees Celsius. The famous health resort of Pahalgam recorded a minimum of minus 0.6 degrees Celsius against 0.1 degrees Celsius normal for this time of the year.
