Govt mulls to introduce vocational courses in private schools: Ganai

Srinagar: Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Friday said that Governor’s administration was mulling to introduce vocational courses as one of the compulsory subjects in private schools across Jammu and Kashmir.
Interacting with the delegation of Private Schools Associations, Advisor said that with the introduction of vocational courses in the schools, students would be able to become self-reliant. “We are interested in setting up of vocational courses— which will encourage self-employability among our youth,” he said.
He also said that Governors administration was taking every possible step to ensure that no harm comes to the student community studying outside the state. He said that Advisors, Liaison officers, Principal Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, have been in touch with various authorities across the country in this regard.
The Advisor said that provision of adequate security measures were taken for the Kashmiri students. He said that Governor has been personally monitoring the situation and Liaison officers were directed that students in distress could be reached out on priority.
Meanwhile, several deputations including a delegation of RakhShilwat, Nowgam, deputations of Aspirants of Music, deputation from Ratnipora, Pulwama, delegation of scholars of Public Administration, delegation of Food Technology, andIntizamia Committee, Ganderbal met the Advisor here.
Similarly, delegation from ChackPora Pulwama, Sopore, Baramulla, BK Pora, Budgam discussed their grievances with the Advisor. Besides some individuals also called on Advisor Ganai and sought his intervention on issues of public importance.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the deputations and individuals who met him and assured them that all of their genuine issues would be looked into and addressed accordingly.
