Pulwama: A sub health centre established two decade back at Amlar-Nowpora village in Pulwama district is operating from a rented accomodation as the main building has been damaged three years back and is yet to be repaired.
Locals said that the building has around three rooms, and is located in an unhygienic area.
“The area is filled with garbage,” they said.
According to the locals, the building was damaged after a tree fell on its roof and is yet to be repaired.
“Authorities are callous about the hardship faced by the people and health department seems unmoved by the distress people are in due to their lackadaisical approach,” they said.
The local said that, “this health centre caters to four villages around Amlar village, and it’s repair is the need of hour to mitigate the public inconveniences”.
The residents have requested health authorities to personally look into the matter as soon as possible.
Chief Medical Officer, Pulwama, Dr. Jaffer Akhoon, told INS that they will look into the matter.
“The health centre is running from a private building comfortably for patient care,” he said.
