Sopore gunfight: Militants firing from two houses, operation extended: Army sources

Sopore: Militants have took positions in two different houses and are engaging with forces from different directions, Army sources said.
The gunfight between militatns and government forces erupted in Warpora areas of Sopore during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
“We are receiving fire from two different direction which indicates that the militants are hiding in two different houses,” An army source, part of the operation confided to INS.
He said that the operation has been extended.
“All there escape routes are closed and it will soon be over,” he said.
Earlier a joint team of Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned Warpora locality of Sopore last night and started a search operation.
The hiding Militants Opened fire upon the troops, however the militants managed to escape the initial site of the gunfight.
The contact was established again triggering off the gunfight. Meanwhile administration Sopore issued a statement, “In view of the apprehension of law and order problem, restrictions under sec 144 CRPC are hereby imposed on the gathering of more than 4 persons in entire Sub-division Sopore with effect from evening 21-02-2019 till further orders,”

However authorities has been suspended mobile internet service in entire Sopore as precautionary measures.
