Avalanche hits Gurez village, two dozen houses damaged

Bandipora: Thirty houses have been damaged after an avalanche hit Khandiyal village of Gurez valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district late last night.

 

Officials claimed that 22 houses were completely damaged.
The avalanche hit the area at around 9:30 pm last night.

 

Eight houses, several cowsheds and some shops have aslso suffered damage, they said.
 

Police said that the lack of communication in the area is hampering the actual information and they are still trying to collect the actual damages in the area.
He, however, said that there is no loss of life in the incident.
