Police solves Sopore youth’s murder case, three arrested, two involved militants already killed

Handwara: Police on Monday claimed to have cracked the abduction and murder case of Sopore youth and arrested three persons in the case.

Two militants involved in the case have already  been killed, police said.

According to police spokesman on October 3 last year Tawseef Ahmad Ganai alias Tan puj ,a resident of Harvan Tujjar Shareef Sopore was abducted by unknown masked gunmen from his shop at Yunsoo.

“Two militants Abu Maaz and Hyder have been killed while three civilians involved in the case are behind the bars,” police said.

Providing details the spokesman said that one person was found roaming in the area of Rajwar Handwara near the graveyard of militant Abu Maaz  and other, who were killed during encounters in Sopore.

“The suspect was apprehended and during preliminary questioning he disclosed his identity as Shezad Ah Khan S/0 Ab Rehman khan R/0  Harvan Tujjar sopore, on his personel search some incriminating material like Mobile phone etc was found and subsequently he was booked under an FIR No 422/ 018 us 13 ULAP,” he said, adding that investigation was taken up and during interrogation the accused made ‘some  shocking disclosure regarding the case’.

“Following which weapon of offence and other related instruments which were used in the murder were recovered from the place of occurrence,” he said.

Police said that, according to Shezad, on 03-10-2018, who is shopkeeper by profession in the younsoo market kept his shop closed since he was also the part of plan that was to be executed on the same day.

“He went to the shop of  Tawseef and kept him busy in the conversation till Abu Maaz, Hyder and other two locals reached his shop and abducted him jointly and also took away a big knife from his shop. The abducted man was enrouted to village Harvan via dense orchards whereby his hands  were tied with rope and his throat was slit using the same knife that they took away from his shop and concealed it in a nearby orchard,” he said.

Police said that charge sheet against Shezad and two slain militants involved in the case was presented in the court and other two local personsm, Imran Naseer pir s/0 Naseer Ah Pir R/0 Harven Tujjar and Asif Ah khan S/0 Ab Rahman khan ( brother of shezad) Harven Tujjar involved in the killing are in police custody and separate charge sheet will be produced against them in a couple of days

 

Throat slit body of Tawseef was recovered on 06/10/2018 from Orchads of Harvan Tujjar Shareef Sopore, after he was abducted from his shop.
