Ganderbal: Residents protested against power development department (PDD) and block Srinagar-Sonamarg road at Sumbal Gund area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday.

The protesters said that their transformer damaged several times in a month and they are reeling under darkness.

The protesters said that they had several times complained to PDD authorities regarding this issue and Upgradation from 100 KVA transformer to 250 KVA but the concerned department have not taken any initiative.The protesters said that their is three wards in this transformer and is not sufficient.

Residents said that higher officials of PDD are not serious about the problems being faced by locals of Gujarpati ward 5,6 and 7 on daily basis.

SHO Gund syed Arif pacified the protesters assuring them that their complaint will be taken up with higher ups and after that the protests end peacefully.

When contacted incharge Executive Engineer Ganderbal Nisar Ahmad said that due to overloading the transformer was damaged. This is the genuine demand of people Upgradation of transformer in the area.
