Kupwara:  Police on Monday afternoon used tear gas shell to disperse the protesters who sought action against the Army Casper which killed a peraon in a mishap at Chougal Handwara of Kupwara.
The deceased has been  identified as Ajaz Rasool Wani posted as assistant director forest protection force Handwara,  resident of Handwara
Reports said that, An alto car bearing registration number JK05E-5769 was hit  by an army Casper vehicle at Chougal.
Eye witness there said that the Driver of the vehicle died on spot following which protests erupted in the area.
Soon after scored of people assembled in the main market Chougal they stated to raise anti Indian and pro freedom slogans there and sought action against the Army Casper driver involved in killing of the Alto driver, eye witnesses said.
SSP Handwara along other police officials reached the spot and teargased the protesters Including, men and women.
However the protesters disappeared after teargased by police, following which traffic movement also resumed on Srinagar-Kupwara Highway..
