Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Coordination Committee (JKCSCC) on Thursday asked Governor J&K Satya Pal Malik to come clear over his position on Article 35-A.
“He should make people aware about the steps his administration has taken to protect the law,” members of the civil society said.
Addressing a presser here at Kashmir Press Club, JKCSCC member, Muzaffar Shah said that the civil society has sought time from Governor Malik regarding Article 35-A.
The case is currently being heard at the Supreme court of India.
“Governor should make us aware as to what has he done and what steps he has taken keep the sanctity of the law as he is the custodian of the state,” Shah said.
On election he said that people should elect their representatives after a well-thought and proper research about the candidate.
Reacting to statement made by Governor regarding operation-all-out and reaching out to Hurriyat, Shah said there is contradiction in his statements as ‘everything happening in the state is taking place on his directions’.
