Kupwara: Scores  of Aasha Workers on Tuesday afternoon  held a protest demonstration here in Northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district demanding hike in monthly salary and implementation of Supreme Court decision in favour of Aasha Workers engaged in health department. 
The protesters marched from main town to DDC complex kupwara shouting Slogans in favour of the workers demanding hike in salary.
“We have been engaged in the department for a decade now but so far over the years  the successive governments have only made promises which haven’t been implemented in favour of Aasha Workers to date,” one among the protesters said.
They alleged callous behavior of Authorities that has forced them to hit the roads.
“We demand salary hike, implementation of Supreme Court decision in favour of Aasha Workers. Our prime demand is that 18000 should be our minimum mostly salary,” the protesters said.
The protesters have appealed state Adminstration  and especially President  of India to look Into the matter and sort out the long pending demands of Aasha Workers.
