Srinagar: Both Hurriyat Conference factions led respectively by Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday paid tributes to three militants who’re killed in a gunfight in Gulshanpora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“These brave youth are sacrificing their today for the freedom of our land,” said Geelani, according a to statement issued here.
He condemned the police action against the protestors and said that Indian forces in one hand kill youth and other hand use its brute force who protest against these killings.
“State people are facing extreme situations and during and after these encounters, the civilian populations are subjected to arbitrary measures and unproportionate military might.”
Expressing his deep concern over prevailing situations in state, he said that virtually authorities have changed state into a battle field.
“These inhuman and undemocratic acts can no longer help the oppressor to hold this territory for long and time will come when they will succumb under their own pressure and will be forced to leave this place,” the octogenarian leader said.
He blamed “stubborn attitude of Indian leadership” for continuous bloodshed and said that denial and unconcern was the sole reason for the unabated bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir.
He reiterated his stand that the UN resolutions guarantee the peaceful and amicable solution of the long standing dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of Hurriyat Conference (M) paid glowing tributes to three armed youth—Adfar Fayaz Parray, Touseef Ahmad Thoker and Zubair Ahmad Bhat . “It was because of the priceless sacrifices of Kashmiri youth that the ongoing struggle has entered into a decisive phase.”
The Hurriyat Conference spokesman said that the government through its repressive policies is pushing the Kashmiri youth to wall, leaving them with the no option other than to resort to armed means of resistance. “These oppressive measures, however, can’t break the resolve of people who are fighting for the legitimate rights neither New Delhi can misguide the world community any more about the basic ground realities in Kashmir.”
The spokesman condemned the use of force on the peaceful protestors, stating that at least a dozen youth sustained pellet injuries as forces used their might by firing countless pellets, tear gas and pava shells to break the peaceful procession “which deserves highest form of condemnation.”
The spokesman said that forces are enjoying unbridled powers under black laws as they know that they won’t be held accountable for their wrongdoings with the result Kashmiris are subjected to worst form of torture and thrashing during peaceful protests.
The spokesman said that New Delhi can’t defeat the people’s resolve to fight for their legitimate right no matter how far it can go in “unleashing reign of terror by displaying its ultimate military might.”
He said bloodbath of Kashmiri people, especially youth, has become everyday affair in Kashmir while as serious attempts are made to divert the attention of world community.
