Sopore:  A family in Sopore is claiming that an unborn baby with their relative has died of medical negligence and they held a protest demonstration against the doctor as well. However the allegation is refuted by the officials saying the family was informed a day earlier about the condition of the unborn baby.

Family of the girl held a protest demonstration at SDH Sopore on Thursday.

Protesting relatives of the girl, Khalida from Rohama, said that they had consulted a doctor namely Dr Parveena after the pregnant lady had developed pain.

“After giving her pain killers she was discharged from hospital. She again developed pain and they rushed her to hospital where they were told that the unborn baby has died in mother’s womb.  The Doctor is pretending that she had informed the patient yesterday but the death has occurred due to her negligence,” they said.

Block Medical officer Sopore Dr Sami said that the family was intimated a day before that the unborn baby might be dead and further tests to confirm it would be done.

“There is no chances of Operating upon the pregnant lady as she is in her eighth month,” he said.
