Jammu: One ITBP trooper was killed and at least 34 other personnel of the paramilitary force were injured, five of the gravely, when a bus they were traveling in met with an accident in Ramban district o Jammu region on Monday.
They were travelling in a private bus which fell down in a gorge near Khooni nallah in the district, the officials said, adding, the bus was on the way from Srinagar to Jammu. The ITBP personnel were part of election duty for just concluded Panchayat polls in Valley. Soon after the accident, police and locals launched a massive rescue operation. 29 out of these boarding the vehicle were removed to hospital so far, they said. Sources also confirmed one personnel has been killed while the condition of at least five other personnel is stated to be critical and are being shifted to GMS Jammu for specialized treatment.
