Srinagar: Deputy Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Sheikh Imran on Wednesday asked doctors not to make people suffer and tendered an apology over ‘unparliamentary language’ he used during the visit to Chest Disease hospital Dalgate.

Addressing a press conference here, Imram said that he has not fired any public servant but asked his assistant to write to Chief Secretary regarding the negligence of the doctors that left a woman dead.

“Somebody’s mother had died there following which I talked to the doctors. I asked assistant to write to Chief Secretary about the state of affairs and urged the top officer of the state that they should be suspended. I can recommend it and nobody can stop me from doing this,” he said.

He also apologized to the doctors, saying “in case I have used any unparliamentary language, then I am very sorry for that but don’t make the people to suffer.”

“I was there to improve the situation at the hospital. I also received many calls from the doctors who said we are with you,” he added.
