On Srinagar-Jammu Highway LMV’s to be allowed only till 1 pm today, Mughal road remains closed

Srinagar: One way traffic is through on Srinagar-Jammu highway, while historic Mughal and Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road road remains closed due to snow accumulation at Peer Ki Gali and Zojilla pass.

Officials said that traffic has been allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar.

“One way traffic is allowed today for both Light Motor Vehicle’s and Heavy Motor Vehicle’s,” officials said.

Officials said that historic Mughal Road remains closed due to snow accumulation at Peer Ki Gali, while as ‘Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road, has been closed due to snow accumulation at Zojilla.

Providing details, he said that cut off timings for LMV’s is, from Nagrota, Jammu is from 0600 hrs. to 1300 hrs.

“From Jakheni, Udhampur it’s up to 1500 hrs,” he said, adding that no LMVs shall be allowed from Nagrota, Jammu and

Jakheni, Udhampur after cut off timings.

For HMV’s and load carriers, he said from Jakheni, Udhampur, timing of movement is from 1400 hrs. to 2400 hrs.

Traffic police department in an advisory has warned commuters not to travel during night hours.

“No movement of any type of vehicle shall be allowed from opposite direction. People are advised to undertake journey on NHW only after confirming status of the road,” officials said.
