Anantnag: Two reporters were allegedly beaten up by paramilitary CRPF at Ashajipora Anantnag in South Kashmir on Friday, sparking off a protest by journalists.
The reporters, Fayaz lalu and Deen Imran working with national TV channels Munsif and Aalmi Sahara, told INS that they were performing their professional duties when they were “assaulted” by the forces in Ashajipora Anantnag.
They said that they were covering clashes in area over the killing of Hizb Commander Manan Wani.
Anantnag working journalists Association (AWJA) protested against the assault and held a sit-in protest, demanding filing of an FIR against the 14bn CRPF forces. The sit-in protest was going on when this report was filed.
