Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said that it has arrested the mastermind behind the posters which were being used to issue threats to the Special Police Officers, political workers and other Police Officers.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that on a tip off the police with the assistance of Army’s 42 RR and 180 BN CRPF cordoned the house of Irshad Ahmad Malla son of Abdul Khaliq Malla, a resident of Kranzbal in Tral. Malla, police said, was closely associated with militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.
He said that during the cordon, the police arrested Irshad from his home and recovered indiscriminating material like “threat posters of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen” and its stamp.

He said a case under FIR No. 94/2018 U/Ss 18, 20, 38 ULA (P) Act has been registered against Irshad in police station Tral and investigations taken up.
