Tral : The residents of Batagund village in Tral staged a protest demonstration on Saturday over dilapidated condition of roads in their area.
The locals assembled at Batagund village near bridge on Pastuna road and raised slogans against Roads and buildings (R&B) department.
They alleged that authorities have turned blind eye towards the Pastuna-Batagund road.
They said that due to the incessant rains, roads are waterlogged in the area, which creates more problems for them.
“R&B authorities do not care at all. They are not looking towards the plight of the masses of Batagund and other villages. Today’s rain has turned road into stream,” a protester Gh Hassan Bhat told INS.
The protesters claimed that thousands of people live in the area from Tral to Pastuna, including Seer, Gulshanpora and other areas, have to suffer daily due to the dilapidated roads.
They demanded immediate restoration of roads in the area to mitigate the sufferings of people.
