Police holds interaction cum counselling to ‘address menace of stone pelting’ in Shopian

Shopian: Shopian police friday held interaction Cum counselling session with youths to ‘address menace stone pelting’.

A police spokesman said that the interaction was held in order to ‘address the menace of stone pelting in district shopian particularly in volatile villages’.

“Shopian Police (Imamsahib) held an interaction cum counselling session with the parents of those involved in pelting episodes in presence of the village respectables of Village DK Pora . The interaction was organised jointly by Police shopian alongwith Other sister security agencies,” he said .

The officers present stressed on the parents to keep strict vigil on their wards, besides an assurance was sought from village respectable, auqaf committee members to keep peace in the village.

“The village respectables gave assurance for keeping peace at village and sought cooperation from Police to identify and nab the bad element , of the village in case of breach of peace again,” he said.
