Kupwara: A minor baby girl drowned in a well in Lolab area of Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Wednesday.

The minor identified as Rutba Ramzan daughter of Mohammad Ramazan  Malla, resident of Siver Dudban Lolab, fell in the well and drowned.

Relatives of the deceased said that Rutba was playing and in no time she went missing.

“We couldn’t find her despite searching at all possible locations and after some time we found her lying in the well,” they said.

The relatives soon rushed Rutba to local health center where doctors declared her brought dead.

Concerned Station Head Officer Kuligam, Mudasir Ahmad said medico-legal formalities were done and body handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
