Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday condemned continuous detention of pro-freedom leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Gh Ahmad Gulzar, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, and Mohd Yasin Ataie.
Geelani as per the statement issued to KNS, expressed his grave concern about the suspension of activities in most of the educational institutions in state and said that the regime is unnecessarily creating hurdles in routine work of civilians.
Syed Ali Geelani said that police authorities laid unwarranted curbs on movement, and leadership continued to be in jails or in police stations despite we have not called for any protest or program.
State authorities announced closure of all educational institutions thus marring their career, said Geelani. Our young generations are facing appalling situations and it is unbearable, added Geelani. (KNS)
