I&FC cautions residents around south Kashmir tributaries: be vigilant during day, night

Kulgam: Officials at the irrigation and flood control department has urged people living around the tributaries of south kashmir to remain vigilant as the incessant rains continue to lash valley. Water level has risen in Vaishaw nallah in Kulgam district on Friday which has washed away several diversions constructed after 2014 flood.

“In view of precipitation, forecast & rise in water levels the habitations residing along TRIBUTARIES (Nallahs) of SOUTH KASHMIR especially Vishow Nallah, Lidder Nallah are advised to remain vigilant during day & also night today to avoid any sudden flood damage,” the I&FC department said on its officials facebook page.

i. Sangam = 14.75 ft
ii. Ram Munshibagh = 8.83 ft
iii. Asham = 3.41 ft

TRIBUTARIES
i. Vishow Nallah at Khudwani = 7.67 m
ii. Rambiyara Nallah at Vachi = 0.77 m
iii. Lidder Nallah at Batkoot = 1.71 m

While an hour before i.e at 11 am (1100 hrs) according to officials was:

RIVER JHELUM
i. Sangam = 13.60 ft
ii. Ram Munshibagh = 8.34 ft
iii. Asham = 3.25 ft

i. Vishow Nallah at Khudwani = 6.97 m
ii. Rambiyara Nallah at Vachi = 0.60 m
iii. Lidder Nallah at Batkoot = 1.63m
