HC quashes 9 PSA detention orders

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmiri High Court on Tuesday quashed detention order under Public Safety Act against a detainee and ordered his release from the preventive custody forthwith “if not required in any other case.”

A single bench of justice M K Hanjura quashed  detention orders  detention order (No. 155/DMB/PSA/2017) of 26 December 2017, passed by the District Magistrate, Baramulla, against one Irshad Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Ahmad Khan of Badambagh, Sopore. Khan was detained and lodged in Central Jail, Kotebhulwal.

While quashing the detention order, the court directed the government to release Khan forthwith from the preventive custody, if not required in any other case.
