Srinagar: Policeman injured On June 16 in a shoutout at Karan Nagar has succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS on Friday, police said.

Identified as HC Habibullah, police tweeted that the injured in an attack at ‘Karan Nagar days ago & was admitted at #SKIMS is no more.’.

 

Suspected militants had opened fire at a police party near Government Dental College in Shireen Bagh area of Srinagar on Friday afternoon, June 16.

Official sources had said that militants opened fire on a police naka (checkpoint) near Dental College resulting in injury to two policemen and two civilians.

Habibullah, a head constable was in critical condition and and an SPO Kifayat was the other cop injured.

The assailants reportedly were riding a motorcycle and fled the spot after attack.
